After last weeks start to my residency, with a smiling Dego delivering the goods at XOYO , I ll be having these two fine gentlemen for the next one this friday:
First of, Marcellus Pittman Unirhythm, one of the nicest, warmest, and funniest cats i ve met over the years, and one hell of a DJ and producer. He s been doing his thing for years, both as a solo producer through his Unirhythm imprint, as well as being a part of Detroits Three Chairs project, alongside Theo, Kenny and Rick. I m super happy to have him over for the residency and i m sure its gonna be a special night with him on the 1210s.
Bradley Zero will be in charge of room 2. He has quickly gained momentum as the head behind Rhythm Section , as well as doing a great show on NTS Radio. As a DJ, Bradley to me is one of the tastiest modern house jocks around, playing a lot of current stuff i ve never heard of.. so you ll see me asking for track IDs for a change ;)
See you all on friday!
Just a quick note.. due to a restructuring of their schedule over at Worldwide FM (less shows, more focus on each individual one) my radioshow has been moved to the fourth tuesday of the month. Thus the next show will air Tuesday, Oct 24th, 4 to 6 PM BST.
This friday will be the opening party of my XOYO residency. I ll be playing alongside Dego & Patrice Scott.
I cannot overstate how much of an influence Dego was and still is for me. I ve been buying every record with this guys name on it since back in the broken beat days.. 4Hero, Co-Op and the whole West London Scene were (together with the House sound of Detroit, Chicago and New York) what got me into electronic music.
He is one of those rare guys that can do the most sophisticated modern fusion-jazz record one day, and then release a grimy, lo-fi, completely nuts record the week after. He is partly responsible for the creation of multiple genres: Jungle, Drum & Bass, Broken Beat, Garage, Dubstep.. and Londons own take on House and Disco.
I cannot wait to see what he will do on Friday!
My second guest is somebody i m very grateful to call a friend for quite some time now - Detroit’s Patrice Scott. There are very few Djs i ve heard that come close to Patrices skills on the 1210s. The word ‚deep’ has been thrown around a lot these last years, but i can’t think of anyone it would suit more than Patrice - His transitions, his pacing, his choice of records - Thats what Deep was meant to be in the first place. Advance tickets are sold out but there will be more on the door from 9:30pm. See you real soon!
